September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month
At U-Vest®, this cause is especially close to our hearts. Both Michael’s son, Micah, and Sheila’s grandson, Joseph, have bravely battled childhood cancer. Their journeys remind us why raising awareness and supporting childhood cancer research, affected families, and our communities is so important.
This September, we’re proud to recognize Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and highlight two organizations making a meaningful impact:
- The Ripple Project: Through their “Be Bold, Go Gold” initiative, they fundraise and bring awareness across the Tallahassee community, honoring children and families affected by cancer.
- Camp Boggy Creek: A fun camp based in Orlando, FL, designed for kids with childhood illnesses, giving them the chance to just be kids while building confidence and lasting friendships.
Together, we can honor the courage of kids like Micah and Joseph while supporting efforts that bring hope and healing to others.
Supporting Our CEO, Michael Davino, CFP®, During His Recovery
We want to take a moment to recognize Michael, CEO of U-Vest®, who recently underwent living donor surgery and is currently out of the office. Michael is continuing to rest and recover throughout the remainder of September and October.
Michael’s absence is a reminder of his selflessness and dedication to family—he generously donated a kidney to his father, prioritizing his loved ones even while managing the responsibilities of leading our firm. We wish Michael a smooth and full recovery, and we look forward to welcoming him back with renewed health and energy!
