Douglas Newman

Doug has been an LPL Financial Advisor for just over 30 years and has enjoyed every minute of it. The combination of working closely with his clients, staying involved with the excitement of the markets, and helping people reach their financial goals has resulted in a perfect career.

After graduating from Hamilton College, Doug immediately began his career in investment management by working at Fidelity Investments’ headquarters in downtown Boston. While there, he worked as a Trader and was involved in creating the Fidelity USA Account, which integrated a brokerage account with mutual funds, a money market fund, a checking account, and a debit card into one package- now an industry standard. 

After 10 years in the big city, Doug switched to working in the investment area at an insurance company in Vermont, allowing him more time to enjoy his favorite outdoor sports, including snowboarding, mountain biking, tennis, and hiking. At the time, LPL was just developing the first fee-based investment management program, which allowed advisors to sit on the same side of the table as their clients and benefit from their success. In 1996, he joined LPL as Pinnacle Advisors; there was no looking back! 

Doug is now a General Securities Principal and a Municipal Bond Principal, and has been an LPL Registered Investment Advisor Representative with LPL Financial for over 30 years. 

Doug and his wife now split their time between Shelburne, Vermont, and Venice, Florida, and are the proud parents of four terrific kids, a brand-new grandchild, and another one on the way. With hundreds of clients spread out across the country, Doug is thrilled to be merging Pinnacle Advisors with U-Vest Financial, a team that can expand the level of service he has provided his clients for so many years.
